v1.0 note on transcription: The current release uses a local placeholder transcription. Accurate AI-powered transcription is being added in the next update. You can manually edit the transcription text on any entry after it generates.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does GlassLog need microphone access?

Recording voice entries is the core feature. Microphone access is only active during a live recording session. You can revoke it at any time in your device settings — existing entries remain accessible, but new recordings will be disabled.

My transcription looks wrong or like generic text — what is happening?

Version 1.0 uses a placeholder transcription system while we finish the Whisper API integration. The text you see is a stand-in. Real speech-to-text is the next update. You can tap to edit the transcription manually in the meantime.

Will my journal entries be backed up to the cloud?

Not in v1.0. All entries are stored locally on your device only. Do not uninstall the app if you have entries you want to keep. Cloud sync is planned for a future update. We will notify users before any network transmission of journal data is introduced.

How do I delete an entry?

Long-press any entry card on the Timeline tab. A confirmation dialog will appear. Confirm to permanently delete the entry and its audio file. This action cannot be undone.
