Every Monthly Log row opens with a single-character box, and no legend is printed beside it on purpose. The letters are yours to invent. The system descends from a September log in the first book where every day carried one letter, a vocabulary of five that said more than any mood scale. Start with one letter. Let the alphabet grow.
Five boxes in the margin of every Daily page. Each time you come back to a page, to add, correct, or just re-read, date the next box. When the fifth is inked, the Earned box opens: write what the page has become. Nobody issues the reward. You do. The rule underneath is the house axiom: written down five times, it stays.
Four ways one page can point at another, printed as a small grid in the corner of every content page. REF is a suggestion: see also. CONT is a promise: this entry continues elsewhere. CONF is an instruction: verify this against that page. The small arrow is an aside: a margin note points here. Together they turn a bound book into a linked one, no software involved.
Three colors, three audiences. Red entries are motivational: what you'd let anyone read. Green is confidential: between you and the page. Black is self: only ever yours. Mark entries as you write or when you sweep. The Cipher section holds the register. A book you can hand to someone, because you know exactly which pages you'd take back first.
Some day, unplanned, usually a Sunday, you will sit down and walk the whole book in one sitting. Touching pages from months ago, adding dates, correcting past entries without erasing them. That is a sweep day, and the back of the book holds a ledger for them: the date, the pages touched, what was added. The first book's sweeps landed on a Super Bowl Sunday, a Good Friday weekend, a June restart, and the December day the epigraph got written. Yours will find their own calendar.
Everything above works in ink alone. The book has no dependencies.
